The Cedar House Inn was the perfect venue for Bridget and Dustin’s wedding, and St. Augustine – still dressed in her finest lights – was the perfect backdrop for both New Year’s Eve and their wedding.  Innkeeper, Cyndi, kept the bubbly flowing as guests toated both the newly married couple and the new year.   Honestly, I don’t know what was brighter – the holiday lights or Bridget’s non-stop smile.   It’s always so much fun when a bride and groom thoroughly enjoy themselves and surrender to the giddiness and joy that their wedding can bring.

Thank you Bridget and Dustin – your wedding was loads of fun and your smiles were the perfect start to our own New Year’s Eve celebration.

Heidi and Jared chose the incredibly fabulous Cedar House Inn for their wedding.   This year innkeeper, Cyndi, truly out did herself on the decorations, lights, and gorgeous details.  No wonder the Inn was such a hit on the holiday trolley tours…that, and all the visitors on the trolley got to yell, “Congratulations!” to Heidi and Jared as they posed for pictures.

I had a wonderful time shooting your wedding Heidi and Jared – your joy was infectious!  Many thanks for allowing me to capture your memories!

Heidi and Jared opted for a first look in the garden of the Cedar House Inn – loved that intimate moment with just the two of them.  Heidi’s mom, Mindy, couldn’t resist a kiss for her daughter as she prepared to leave her room looking gorgeous!

These beautiful ribbons on the ceremony table were used for the handfasting ceremony…such a unique way incorporate historic traditions in a modern way.

And that handsome clergyman in a kilt?  Why that’s hubby, Ian, doing the ceremony.

Here’s those beautiful smiles and laughter just beginning to light up the evening.

The Christmas lights at the Lightner Museum and Casa Monica hotel could not be missed as the sun was beginning to set…such a great background.

Even Heidi’s dad, Jeff, and Jared’s mom, Nita, took a turn dancing in the parlor of the Inn.

When it came time to love, honor, and cherish Mia and Michael chose a Christmas wedding at the amazing Cedar House Inn…an inn voted the best of St. Augustine 4 years in a row and decorated unlike any other.  Among the twinkling lights and swags of garland Mia and Michael said I do with their new blended family ready to share their joy.  Keeping in the Christmas spirit we had a great time capturing some wonderful images under the thousands of white lights around the Lightner Museum and the Casa Monica Hotel. 

Mia and Michael, I wish you many, many years of joy and love – and a Happy New Year as well!

I would also like to thank the many professionals who were such a big part of each wedding this past year – the wedding planners, make up artists, hair stylests, cake artists, DJ’s, florists, videographers – you all are remarkable in what you do and the joy you bring to each couple.  It was also a pleasure to work in some of the finest venues in Florida…from the small and intimate B&B’s to the grand ballrooms in the big hotels and country clubs.  I look forward to working again at the Cedar House Inn, the St. Augustine Lighthouse, One Ocean Resort, the Lightner Museum, the Schooner Freedom, Benvenuto, the Broken Sound Club, St. Johns Golf and Country Club, the Aetna Building, the Winterbourne Inn, the Sanchez House, Our Lady of Leche Shrine, and St. Judes Catholic Church.

Bettina and Ryan had a beautiful wedding at One Ocean Resort Hotel in Atlantic Beach in spite of an incredible nor’easter blowing through town.  The wind and rain lashed all of northeast Florida for several days, but that proved to be no problem for Sarah Seibers, their wedding coordinator, and the capable staff at the resort.   With the outdoor patio protected by drop down windows they were still able to have their beach side ceremony. 

There were many other vendors who participated in helping to make this wedding so lovely.  I’d like to give a special thank you to the fantastic Kris Eberhardt – she proved to be a wonderful day-of coordinator (genekris@bellsouth.net).   The lights and music were provided by Event and Sound with Chadwick and Jeremy making sure the dance music never stopped!  Bettina’s lovely makeup was done by Erin Foster at www.artistrybyerin.com and her hair was done by Kelli Kath at One Ocean Resort’s salon.

Bettina and Ryan, it was a pleasure spending your wedding day with you and your wonderful family.  I wish you a forever kind of joy and happiness!

Bettina wore a beautiful raw silk gown from Love, A Bridal Boutique in Jacksonville Beach, FL.   And that gorgeous bouquet?  That’s from Rose of Sharon European Florist also in Jacksonville.

This is the adorable Laney and Cooper, Bettina’s lovely children.  I could have photographed their sweet faces all afternoon.

I love the lobby of One Ocean Resort…sweet light and lots of great spots for pictures.

This is Ryan’s son, Ayden.  He’s adorable and quite the dancer.

Bettina’s cousin designed the delicious and colorful candy bar.

Bettina and Ryan’s yummy cake was designed by Nancy Slatsky, the Pastry Chef at One Ocean Resort.

Their Catholic mass was beautiful, personal, and crowded with nearly 200 friends and family.   And, if all the rain drops represented tears of happiness than Krista and Raymond had enough that day for a lifetime of love.

We didn’t have the opportunity to capture the family and brial party images on Broken Sound Country Club’s lovely golf course so we stayed cozy and dry in the beautiful club house.  No matter – while the weather continued to unleash its fury on the outside world, inside Krista and Ray danced the night away to the most amazing band, Rock With U Entertainment.  Rarely do we get to hear a band of this quality but when we do it’s always a treat.

Krista and Ray – it was a joy to spend your wedding day with you and your families and we wish you an amazing life of joy and love!

Krista had a delicious pair of purple shoes to wear to the reception.  Loved them!

Krista told me that her wedding dress weighed 12 lbs!  I believe it as it took two of us to move it around for the photos.

Just when I thought I’d seen everything, Krista surprised me with what was under her wedding gown – take a close look – see that little dress?  That’s Krista’s christening dress sewn into the layers of her wedding dress.  Wow!

With gray skies and rain behind us, we grabbed a few shots under the portico before the light faded completely.

Broken Sound Country Club has a really lovely ball room over looking the golf course.  As the day turns into night, the ceiling lights up in colors that add such drama to the room.

It’s hard to not get a bit choked up when I see a father/daughter dance with this much emotion.

This wedding had an extra special touch that made me smile too.  That officiant – that handsome Episcopal Bishop standing between Robin and David is Ian, my husband, and usual second shooter.  Yes, once in a while we get to work a wedding in two very different capacities. 

Both Ian and I truly loved being a part of Robin and David’s wedding and newly blessed family.  We wish you many, many years of happiness and joy!

Robin and David had their wedding cake nestled among candy, cupcakes, and pastries…so pretty and so tempting to taste a bit of everything!

Seriously though, Maureen and Ross share a truly special love, and it was wonderful spending a bit of time with them as they wed at the Cedar House Inn.  Maureen and Ross also share a love of the Boston Red Sox – and as life would have it - innkeeper Cyndi, owns a World Series ring from the Sox’s win in 2004  - which she generously allowed Maureen to wear throughout her ceremony and portrait session.  Wow – such an unexpected memory!

I wish you all the best Maureeen and Ross – and I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity to share your day, your love, and bit of the journey towards your future.

Once again, Cyndi surprised the bride with one of her own beautifully created bouquets.

Maureen wore her grandmother’s ring along with her wedding band – a lovely nod to family history and remembrance.

I love how the Cedar House Inn is decorated for each season….pumpkins, white lights, and warm earthy flowers are some of my favorites things. 

And, here it is….the World Series ring looking oh-so-special on Maureen’s pinky finger.

What a beautiful afternoon in the garden of the Cedar House Inn…and Pastor David is always such a charming officiant.

Look at this cute little wedding cake….perfect for just two people.

Maureen has always loved Denis Reggie’s iconic photograph of JFK, Jr. kissing Carolyn Bessett’s hand after their ceremony.  Could we do something similar she asked?  Sure, a little celebrity inspiration coming right up! 

Maureen, a horse lover and owner, couldn’t wait to greet her carriage horse from Avalon Carriage Service of St. Augustine.

Maureen’s lovely hair and makeup was from Small Indulgences in historic St. Augustine.   Our post ceremony wedding images were all taken at the Lightner Museum – just a few steps from the Cedar House Inn.

Thank you Elizabeth – I loved seeing your family again and enjoying a perfect night on the beach!
